Just a little update on my coconut oil experiment. I have been using it for a few days so I can't yet make any definitive claims to its effectiveness. However, I definitely can perceive a difference in the amount of moisture in my upper arms. The bumps haven't diminished at all yet perhaps I have to exfoliate more in the shower before putting on the coconut oil. My keratosis pilaris hasn't resided at all. I was hesitant to originally use coconut oil because I didn't think it would absorb into the skin as easy as it actually does. While I'm not crazy about the smell it definitely smells better than the lotions that contain acid most commonly used to treat KP like Amlactin. Currently Amlactin is still my go to treatment but would make the switch to coconut oil if its effectiveness proves comparable.
This is my current favorite treatment for my KP. Lol I hate the smell of it but it's the best thing I've stumbled across that's widely available. You smell like a doctors office and it can have a slight burn but it does make your keratosis pilaris less noticeable.
