So far so meh....
Coconut oil has been touted recently as a miracle cure for everything from KP to gout. The only thing I can say for certain is that yes it does technically work as a moisturizer. Is it any better than any other basic moisturizer? Right now I don't see any benefit from coconut oil that you can't find in other treatments. My bumps are not showing any improvement, if anything they appear slightly redder than normal. I'm going to continue the experiment but I'm unimpressed. Some of my lack of enthusiasm can probably be attributed to the fact that I expected more from this than I did from other products due to the hype that surrounds it. I had already bought in to the fervor, but I'm starting to think there is little evidence to support the miracle power of coconut oil.
I am now a coconut oil skeptic but I will proceed with the experiment as planned. I just hope my keratosis pilaris doesn't get chronically worse if it does I'll take one for the KP team. I'll keep you posted.
